About the creator:
Juna Ninetta Miedema (2001) is an artist and designer from Arnhem, the Netherlands. In her work, she tries to reconnect people with the beauty of nature. Her fascination with nature and what natural elements can offer is reflected in the way she works. She positions herself at a cross-over of science and imagination. Her intuitive way of working in ceramics, in which she responds to associations combined with scientific research, creates a unique approach to designing.

She bases her work on scientific research combined with the study of natural elements, primarily plants, on different levels. This results in detailed structures, hand-built sculptures, and visual research that together form unique identities within her work. Her sculptures have the perfect combination of creating attention by recognition and keeping the interest by associations and fascinations.

Growing up in the center of Utrecht, she spent every weekend in nature at the caravan her parents bought. The weekends spent in the woods, dunes, and on the beach left a lasting impression. This connection has become the driving force behind the mission to reconnect people in our increasingly urbanized world with the beautiful effect of natural elements.
